New England Residential Services and its' board of directors believes that people with disabilities have a right to be visible, integrated members of society, worthy of respect and deserving of meaningful lives. We believe that a home should be a reflection of those who live there as well as a warm nurturing place where people can develop trust, self-esteem and some degree of independence. We are committed to assisting the people we support to live in homes that are as close as possible to those of others in the community.
New England Residential Services adheres to the DMR Mission Statement in the following manner:
We value, enable and encourage relationships with family and friends.
We are committed to the right to choose, believing that the individuals we support have the right to make or assist with decisions that affect their lives.
We support individuals in their development of skills and independence
We recognize the need for respect and we train our staff to support people with dignity.
We believe that individuals belong in the community, enjoying the opportunities and activities offered by the local community.
In the everyday life of New England Residential Services, it is the operation of our homes, the participation and enjoyment of individuals in their homes and in the community, good relationships with family and friends and well trained, committed staff that bring a good quality of life to each person.
