Our History
New England Residential Services started in 1987, when we made a commitment to the Department of Developmental Services to welcome individuals who, at the time, had been living in one of the many institutions in the state of Connecticut. Our first two group homes opened in the fall of 1987. By the spring of 1989, we had opened an additional four homes.
In total, we currently support eleven group homes. New England Residential Services also works closely with vocational and day programs.
New England Residential Services is a private non-profit agency that employs approximately 110 people and supports more than 40 adults. We are funded by the state of CT through the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Social Services, and, in some cases, through the Department of Children and Families.
