We’re grateful for the kind words our individual’s families have to say about us!

Our brother (James) has been a recipient of New England Residential Services since the very beginning when it was established in1987. When the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services had to close large institutions such as Southbury Training School, my brother had already been living there for 21 years of his life.

Our family has been tremendously blessed all these years to have such a wonderful organization of NERS. We cannot say enough about the long-time staff our brother has had and still has today that have become part of our family. The years of consistent services and care NERS delivers each day 365 days of the year 24/7 for our brother is remarkable. What NERS offers is true, a well-trained staff, with a low turnover rate, and truly dedicated teams that work well together.

I don’t know what our family would have done without an organization like NERS. And what they print about their philosophy is true. People with disabilities have a right to be visible, integrated members of society, worthy of respect and deserving of meaningful lives. Our brother has been a recipient of these statements all throughout his 68 years of life, for you see he has grown up to be a fully capable, independent man who has lived in his own house for 25 years. And just recently has moved to his former Group Home, which NERS wisely recognized that our brother required additional services to assist with his daily routine. And our family is so grateful that our brother is in the care of NERS during this past extremely challenging year of 2020 and 2021, with the Covid-19 crisis ravaging our nation and the world.

I highly endorse such a well-managed, long standing, and experienced organization such as New England Residential Services. Thank you NERS from the bottom of our hearts.

Our daughter, for whom we are guardians, has been a resident of NERS group home for over 20 years.  NERS involves us in all key decision making affecting our daughter and provides weekly updates on her participation in the home and the community.  We are pleased with the individualized care she receives.  The entire NERS staff, both direct care and administrative, go above and beyond to ensure the health, safety and happiness of our daughter.  We could not have found a better program.

I am the guardian of a woman who joined the New England Residential Services family many years ago. During the years that she has been a group home resident I have watched her develop into a confident woman who truly enjoys her life and the people in it. Under the care of the compassionate and professional staff she is continuing to develop new skills in all areas of her life.

For this I will be forever grateful.

My brother has been in the care of NERS most of his adult life. The NERS family has been his direct-support longer than any relative. This is a sad fact, but I have peace of mind because of the outstanding quality of care he receives. Staff know him. They know his preferences. They know what he needs. The easy access to staff reassures me that they are always aware of what is going on. They are as much a part of my family as they are my brother's. I am forever grateful and indebted.
